In January 2014, the International Security Sector Advisory Team (DCAF/ISSAT) in Switzerland and
Swedepeace in Sweden (Swiss Justice and Security Sector Reform Team) executed their third mission to Honduras, one of the most violent countries in the world with more than 80 homicides per 100 000 inhabitants. The purpose of the mission was to backstop Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) in their efforts on human security and violence reduction in Honduras with a special focus on their partner Alliance for Peace and Justice (Alianza para Paz y Justicia – APJ). The Alliance consist of a number of civil society organizations and is one of the key actors in the efforts to reform the justice and security sector in Honduras. During the mission, the team provided support in reviewing results of 2013, updating APJ’s theory of change and in elaborating APJ’s Strategy for 2014-2016.
